Born to Lucy and Tom Cordero in Pasig, Philippines,
in January of 1981.

Her father, being a paster of Villa Alagre Bible Baptist Church, Joy got an early exposure to singing in church. With 2 brothers and 1 sister, she was an answer to her parents’ prayer of having a quartet.

Actively singing in church since age 4 she has sung in a
multitude of churches bringing Glory to God.

In addition to singing in churches, she has sung in musical competitions around the world and won numerous awards. These include:

• 2nd place in category “Solo”, Champion in categories “Trio”, “All Female Quartet”, “Mixed Quartet”, “Ensemble” then the same year competed the in the U.S. as the representative of the Philippines in the International Students Convention in Knoxville Tennessee and won 2nd place out of 400 competing schools.

Her first CD ‘Take his Hand’ was an inspiration to her to help churches build their auditorium. She does free concerts for churches to help benefit churches that needed help on their buildings.

Now married, she enjoys cooking and managing the school canteen of their church, although she doesn’t earn anything! Cooking is her passion and she enjoys serving good food at her expense, feeding over 150 kids each day. As she always say “ food is a challenge, but if you serve good food and see people’s smiles... It’s worth a while!

She also enjoys traveling with her husband Luke and playing with their kitty cat, Sugar, and driving their car Candy… Joy is also busy working on her latest album ‘Just Thankful’ an album inspired by special people in her lives and God’s faithfulness through all these years…
